GENERAL

  • There is one common route to fly from/to the heliport to/from the visual reporting point ROTOP, which is published in the Dutch VFR guide.

  • A detailed map of this route will be made available upon booking confirmation

  • ROTOP is positioned on the Schiphol CTR boundary over the Noorder IJ-plas. The geographical position of ROTOP is 52°25’30”N 004°51’52”E.

  • Approach or leave the heliport on track 016° MAG or 196° MAG (unless otherwise required for flight safety purposes).

  • The route from the heliport to ROTOP is the ‘ROTOR DEPARTURE’.

  • The route from ROTOP to the heliport is the ’ROTOR ARRIVAL’.

  • Simultaneous use of the ROTOR Arrival and ROTOR Departure is not allowed. The co-ordination in this matter is a task of Heliport Operations.

  • Heliport Operations notifies the Schiphol Approach supervisor daily about the period the ROTOR Arrival/Departure route is in use.

  • Other traffic (police, lifeline, pipeline) has the awareness about the existence of the route and will be informed by the TWR controller through the phraseology ‘Rotor heliroute active’.

  • The altitude of the ROTOR Arrival and ROTOR Departure in the Schiphol CTR is 500 ft AMSL.

  • HEMS ‘scramble’ flights and State Police ‘robbery’ flights are exempted from the above mentioned route. These flights always contact Schiphol TWR.

  • OPR HR for commercial flights is SR –15 and SS +15. The heliport manager can authorize HEMS-flights and State police flights outside UDP (H24).

  • The pilot-in-command contacts ARO Schiphol to file flight plans and to obtain aeronautical information.

  • From 21 November 2005 onward use EHHA as destination/departure code on the flight plan (NOTAM B0653/05).

  • Contact KNMI, MWO De Bilt for aeronautical meteorological information.

  • Training and circuit flights are not allowed.

  • Two-way radio contact with Schiphol TWR and/or APP is mandatory in the CTR; however, contact is only necessary when ordered by ATC.

  • The pilot-in-command reports two minutes before ETD “ready for departure” on FREQ 131.500 MHz to Heliport Operations.

  • Heliport Operations checks the activation of the route with Schiphol Approach supervisor.

  • Heliport Operations approves departure clearance.

  • The pilot-in-command selects SSR-code 0001.

  • The pilot-in-command switches to standard transponder settings 5 NM after ROTOP.
